Writing the 12th Century

Raven

Having just spent a little short of a year researching this new book…Well, OK. It all began as A Book (single) and very quickly turned into A Series of Books (more than one but probably less than 10)…and having started writing CHAPTER 1 … (tapping away at the keyboard quite nicely, thank you very much)…my so-called brain (which can be more properly described as a regularly malfunctioning, completely uncontrollable, attention-seeking, untidy, quixotic organ thingy lodged inside my head)…suddenly decided that it would be a jolly good idea to start a blog about The Books, The 12th Century, The Writing Life, The Research, The Joys and The Agonies of Creation and anything else that this organ thingy in my head (described above) could come up with.

SIDE NOTE:

BRAIN – OED Definition

NOUN

  • An organ of soft nervous tissue contained in the skull of vertebrates, functioning as the coordinating centre of sensation and intellectual and nervous activity.

The human brain consists of three main parts. (i) The forebrain, greatly developed into the cerebrum, consists of two hemispheres joined by a bridge of nerve fibres, and is responsible for the exercise of thought and control of speech. (ii) The midbrain, the upper part of the tapering brainstem, contains cells concerned in eye movements. (iii) The hindbrain, the lower part of the brainstem, contains cells responsible for breathing and for regulating heart action, the flow of digestive juices, and other unconscious actions and processes. The cerebellum, which lies behind the brain stem, plays an important role in the execution of highly skilled movements.

    Oh. Pooh. Yes. Yes. Whatever!
