I am fascinated by the Byzantine Emperor Andronicus I Comnenus right now.

I think he holds the keys to unlock much research.

Andronicus was born 1152 and executed 1185. In Constantinople.

You will hardly find a good thing said about him in today’s Information Highway. But this is another matter!

 

 

After his execution there came the So-Called Fourth Crusade in 1204 better known as The Fall of Constantinople. Just after this Andronicus’ remaining family sought safety in one of their lands. The travelled eastwards and founded the Comnenus Empire of Trebizond.

 

 

Guess what happens next?

Yup. In 1461 there is a famous battle called The Fall of Trebizond.
