Woodworkers know about Marriage Marks

Marriage marks are what carpenters used/still use to build a box/table/house properly.

I – one

V – five

X – ten…

..are all easy to mark in wood with a chisel or an axe in order to build any structure properly. A C would be difficult, but not so much an L or and M.

I’m just thinking about Old Alphabets and Numerals and timber buildings and when exactly the Roman Numerals came into being.

I’m also thinking about famous Roman timber building projects.
