Who EXACTLY were the famous Janissaries?

Quote – “They began as an elite corps of slave soldiers made up of kidnapped young Christian boys who were converted to Islam.” Mid to late 1300’s.

OK. Whatever.

How about this?

“Christian/Turk.”

In the 14th century there was no such distinction. The Great Empire was one single religion. Christian. The Turks were Ottomans. The Ottomans came from the North – Slavs and Russian Turks. (Tartarians)

“Slave Soldiers.”

The Janissaries were SLAV soldiers of the Great Empire. They were highly skilled fighters who make up the Royal Guard at Constantinople.

“The corps was abolished by Sultan Mahmud II in 1826 in the Auspicious Incident in which 6,000 or more were executed.”

Other sources have put the number of the Slav Janissary and their families who were EXECUTED in 1862 at 30,000 or more.
