Spot the difference?
It seems that in the latter part of the 17th century some one decided to decapitate the Imperial Eagle.
Strange fact – the original Imperial was bi-cephalous, facing East, facing West. But after the split in the Empire, Western European countries and Royal Houses cried, ‘Orf with his head!’
Which way is the eagle now looking? East or West?
The only Royal family to keep the original two-headed eagle was the Romanov. (!)
