It’s taken me half the day to find out what okolotok means. Sheesh!

The only way I could find the English meaning was to go around the houses, up and down the garden path, through the hedge backwards and guess where I eventually found it???

Via a Russian-Tatar Dictionary. Woohoooo!

So…

Okolotok means:

The neighbourhood.

Why all the farce?

Because this was the original “name” for the modern Veliky Novgorod.
