Watching the previous Urbex videos reminded me…
About a million years ago (No! I DO NOT exaggerate. How Very Dare You) I lived and worked in Berlin.
As a girl, I was clever enough to press a button to let Russian conscripts in to guard their War Memorial (several shifts a day)
I was also clever enough to sit on Charlie for hours at a time checking passports and telling English tourists that – No. I didn’t speak English. But the Americans 3 feet away did.
I was clever enough to spend many a long hour on Checkpoint Bravo – the only land entrance into Berlin at the time. Via the Corridor
Stars and Stripes : The Helmstedt-Berlin autobahn
I even worked Checkpoint Alpha.
Wiki : Helmstedt–Marienborn border crossing
But, not quite good enough to do….The Wall Patrol or to guard Hess in Spandau.
Sigh. All because I was a girlie. Pout.
But I had the best fun Ever :o)
A Schnell Imbiss beats MacDonalds/KFC/Burger King/even my local chippy…. every day of the week.
Just saying!
