I’ve just finished watching Pandora’s Box. A 1929 film by Pabst starring Louise Brooks. I sooo love these old silent movies.

If you don’t know the name Louise Brookes – the face will be familiar. It is beautiful. Iconic.

And Louise was the original 20th century BADASS girl.

She came from Wichita as a dancer. WB Pabst asked her to go to Germany and she went, sticking 2 fingers up to the Hollywood system. She refused to be controlled. As Pabst also found out to his cost!

Hollywood abandoned her. But she resurfaced decades later as a ‘pull-no-punches’ writer. I have a biography and her “autobiography” Lulu in Hollywood. Love her to bits.
