Betty Edwards

This is a kind of follow on from the last post. Betty Edwards wrote a fabulous book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. It’s an artist’s manual but not just for artists.

She talks about our two brains. The Left. The Right. And their various functions. Look into it.

For me, maybe, the biggest deception has been the manipulation of our brains. With our complete consent.

Are you a left brain person or a right brain person. I’m balanced (Did the tests!)

But most people are extremely LEFT brained. The analytical, logical being. This has been a deliberate ploy.

Starting with school, we are taught to learn by rote. Lists. Numbers. Formulae. Question. Answer. Tick. Cross. Right. Wrong. Stand in line. Obey the rules etc

Computers do this too. When was the last time you wrote free-hand with a proper fountain pen?

We’ve been raised to squash the right side. The ethereal, transcendental, illogical, mystical , spiritual, free-roaming part of us.

There are Natural ways and means to bring back our rightful balanced natures.

But that’s for another time :o)
