Shining a Tiny Light on Ritual Sacrifice

This is a weird one but stay with me.

Child/Ritual Sacrifice is probably the most distasteful “exposures” of recent times. If any person does this – firstly- they are damned to Hell for all Eternity.

Secondly – they have no right to claim that this is a part of some Base Human Nature that we all possess.

Sacrifice is all over history and especially myth and legend. But what if…

…What if this is all just an allegory?

What if “Sacrifice” speaks of a Universal Truth that has nothing to do with cannibalism and everything to do with personal Enlightenment/Growth/Happiness?

In Wagner’s Ring Cycle and the myth it’s built around, Wotan sacrifices the twins Sieglinde and Siegmund for the greater good of the collective. In doing so he loses not only his children but his lover as well. She’s well pissed off!

Maybe this all means something completely different to what we have all been led to think.

How about those of us who sacrifice the ever-loving child inside?

The priests. The monks. The Virgin Queens. The Career Focussed. The wilfully childless etc etc.

From this point of view “Ritual/Child Sacrifice” is the deliberate choice, that so many make,  to focus on all and everything except LOVE.

Makes sense to me :o)
