Woohooo! It’s Arrived

Someone as naturally impatient as me MUST have amazonPrimeNextDayDelivery. Or else life get’s boring :o)

The Almanac has arrived.

Despite the “hype” surrounding it, it is a real treasure. The best £10 I’ve spent in a long time.

And it reminds me of George. He was my Mum’s step-father but always Granddad to me. A gentle giant of a man and an award-winning gardener with the patience of a saint as the little me/child would spend hours in the garden with him asking questions.

He breed chrysanthemums and created a gorgeous bright/burnt orange variety which he named after my Mum (her fave colour) and won multiple awards for.

He was an old-fashioned Almanac gardener who instinctively understood nature’s cycles.

BTW. Today, 1st Feb is Imbolc. The Full Moon on the 9th is the Snow/Ice/Storm Moon. Today/tomorrow are brill days for sowing seeds that develop underground. There are Neap tides on the 3rd/4th. Something about frogs spawning and dahlia tubers and pear/apple/rosemary fritters.

I might’ve gone to heaven :o)
