Weave a Garland of My Vows

The title of my novel is a deliberate mis-quote of a Richard Crashaw poem.

I explained this in May 2009

Wishes to His (Supposed) Mistress

And I might’ve/could’ve said before that my fave poet is a homie. Alfred, Lord Tennyson. Born a handful of miles from here. And my fave Tennyson poem is Lady of Shalott.

I used this quote for my online knitting/yarn business (Big Fat Fail)

There she weaves by night and day. A magic web with colours gay.

How any sane person can think that garlands and flowers and cherubs are EVILS blows my brain :o(

Oh. And. My fave Agatha Christie, Miss Marple story is The Mirror Crack’d.

Main Character – Marina Gregg.

She look’d down to Camelot. Out flew the web and floated wide;. The mirror crack’d from side to side;. ‘The curse is come upon me,’ cried. The Lady of Shalott.

Gregg – a version of MacGregor that we had to take to conceal the clan during the proscription.

Greig – (my name) a version of MacGregor that we had to take to conceal the clan during the proscription.

I Rest MY Case ;o)
