The Granite City

There is something a bit iffy about the MS History of Aberdeen. The Granite City. Home to Annie Lennox (and from my former life – major contacts in the Gas & Oil Community!!!)

Wiki : Aberdeen

Why is/was it called The Granite City? Well. Most of the older buildings were made of locally quarried granite (?!?)

Then, for some reason, in the early 20th century, all the tenements were torn down and a booming industry began for the locals. Exporting granite around the world.

See my problem? What happened to Rubislaw, the local granite quarry?

How many billions of years does it take for granite to be made?

I’m a little discombobulated by all this.

Or am I ? :o)
