This unique book explains the tradition of French rural gardens and takes you through the process of creating and maintaining a wonderfully natural garden using traditional methods. It is both beautiful and useful with hundreds of colour photographs and practical illustrations as well as details of growers providing old-fashioned plant varieties.
Also known (in French) as a potager.
In England/English this is a peasant’s garden, carved out of the wild.
This book by Louise Ranck has been a long-time favourite of mine. I go to it every time I garden. Which, unfortunately, hasn’t been for ages now since Sir JD poisoned my whole garden with his “high-tech aka fake” agriculture poison/planning. Sigh.
Anyhoo – for those who still “believe” that I AM EVIL….here is a photo of me, with book, with laptop, with birthday dotty slippers.
My apologies for the picture but the window on the right faces south. Toooo sunny today (?)
P.S. Despite the glossy/showy/amawtf this is a beautiful book full of wonderful old-fashioned gardening tips like those that my Grandparents taught me from the youngest age. Enjoy :o)
