Ohdear. Rewind!
I wrote earlier that I’d bought “everlasting” sweet peas.
Sorry. My bad. These are hardy annuals.
I’d been thinking about Nan and Grandad when I saw the seeds.
They had a little homemade wooden arbour kind of thing, just beyond the coal shed, where the dustbin was always kept.
Every year – without fail – in the hot months – the very heady fragrance of sweet pea would overcome the smelly smell of the dustbin.
Which I thought was rather clever of them :o)
P.S. Pumpkins ? ? ?
I can make a brilliant butternut squash soup but are pumpkins the same? Shrug.
