THE Local Bobby

I first moved here aged 10.

Dad had finished his two years probation and came to town as a fully – fledged police person.

From the very start he was everyone’s “go to” man. At the expense of his wife and children, come day, come night, he NEVER turned away a soul in need.

Only now am I beginning to understand why.

Dad was a quiet man. A listener. Not a talker. He’d sit in silence (which freaks so many people out!) and actually LISTEN. Then he’d act.

The flip side of this was the amount of times that Dad and his family (i.e. Mum, my brothers and I) became the target of numerous Hate Campaigns.

And the Vibe still goes on.
