Why are spies called Moles?

And yes…they probably do spend time underground entering and exiting buildings via tunnels but not much time. Humans need sunlight to survive!

When we stop looking at Underground/Tunnel/Labyrinth in their literal meanings – a whole new view opens up.

Historical research is a labyrinthine task. And that Does NOT mean that there are huge libraries underground!! It means winding roads travelled that, more often than not, lead to dead ends/re-traced steps/missed entrances/lots of frustration and an unquenchable desire to find light in the darkness.

Using euphemism over literalism sometimes can be very handy.
