I’ve just half watched something that set me on one of those (for me, usual) research quests. And I came across something very unexpected!

Way, no way, cried I. Robin came from Nottingham. Sherwood Forest. C’mon. We all know that!

Wentbridge is in Yorkshire. Close by Pontefract,to be precise. And this is where my spidey senses kicked in.

Charles, Duke of Orléans, spent time imprisoned in Pontefract Castle after being captured at Agincourt. Aha!

York…capital city of Yorkshire… is famous for being a MAJOR VIKING centre.

I’m pretty familiar with another Historical Figure who took away from the rich to give to the poor. And was executed for this “CRIME.”

BTW – This makes sense to me :o)
