SUFI

Good Grief!

I got to page 24 (at last) and went to check up one small thing about Sufism, that had Nothing to do with religion and !BAM!

I get a short sharp lesson about…World Religion.

It started with Shi’ah and Shi’ite. Sufism is very mystical and grew from the Shi’ah side of Islam. The Shi’ite side (I believe) are much more logical (?)

And then in half a paragraph I’m taken back to Robert Graves, Gurdjieff, Ouspensky, JG Bennett, Omar Khayyam. Idries Shah.

That’ll be paganism, Western Christianity, Islam, Mysticism, Sanskrit, Buddhist, Orthodox Christianity – Russia, Tibet, China, India, UK, Persia, Ancient Rome, Middle East.

All of these seem to be contained within, or have within them, more than a touch of Sufi Mystiscm.

SMH!
