If you’ve been here from the beginning, you may know that I have my own opinions about “Gypsies.”

MY thoughts and opinions come from KNOWING, talking to, Real Romany Gypsies who can trace their families back many generations.

I’ve always had a great deal of respect for them. I told a story recently about someone close to me spending time on a Traveller/Gypsy Camp making it safe after a HUGE tree was blown down in a storm. He came home with a new-found respect for them. Their humour. Their generosity. Their pride in their appearance (all the kids/homes were spotlessly clean) and their HONESTY.

Yes. HONESTY. Tons of wood was cut from this tree and the council workers were asked, by said gypsies, if it would be OK to take a few bits of wood away for their own use.

We’ve been sold such lies about these people. Only because…

They live differently to us. Their values are different. They have a certain “look.” They place the greatest VALUE on FREEDOM and self-determination.

And How WE Judge them ALL…Fear them…Despise them. Without ever getting to know them.
