Today – Lady M would be labelled a DISTORTED FEMININE.
A woman who ruthlessly seeks HER wants and needs through her famous spouse. She ridicules him. Manipulates him so much that he comes to a crucial point in his life when the ONLY thing he can do to appease her malicious and baleful nature, is commit MURDER.
Macbeth must kill the opposition – male, female, child – to soothe this Driven Woman.
So he does. Again. And again and…?
Yet, when the story ends, not only does Lady M get her deepest desire through the death of those she ( and only she) hates, she destroys both herself and her husband.
And the moral of the story ?

I adore this play. I learn a different lesson every time I return to it.
Rewind. Repeat. I couldn’t care LESS about the true identity of the man known as Shakespeare. We have been GIFTED something so special via “his” works, in my humble opinion. Gifts that will take a very long time to be repeated.
P.S. Loving the Geordie narrator :o)
