Leek & Potato Soup & a Damn Good Cry!

I was up and at ’em early this morning.

First task – Post Office. The queue stretched half way across the Market Square and around the corner. Every one at least 4 metres apart and masked. We’d all have fitted in the Post Office on a normal day!

The girl in front of me had a baby in a push-chair and I bent down to help her lift the chair up the P.O. steps.

OMG. She snatched it out of my hands and swivelled her masked baby away from me. OK. I didn’t cry.

Tesco, next stop. A place that I’ve shopped in for 20 years but haven’t visited these past few months. The staff all know me. Some even remember my parents. I walk in and immediately get shouted at, loud enough for everyone to stop and look.

Have you got a face covering?

I shout NO and walk straight out again.

I managed to get back to the car before I broke down in floods of tears. SMH.

Anyway – tea tonight is a grab anything and everything already in the house concoction. I have leeks and potatoes and butter and milk and salt and garlic pepper. Aha! Soup.

And just to be Bloody Awkward and NOT a recipe follower – I’m putting in celery, carrots and garlic. So there.

Sue Me!!!!!
