It’s not the way that synopsis writing is so often taught but, this is how All my synopses for a new story idea begin.

A woman finds herself and her family in a major financial crisis so she decides to go back to the work she used to do.

She is a writer who can operate from home with the minimum of resources – a computer, books, pen, paper, decades of experience and the solid foundation of previous successes.

In an attempt to further her research she reaches out to a newly founded community of like-minded people and contacts them.

Her work is surveyed and half-accepted…with deep reservations. She continues to stay in contact not knowing that her sincere compliments and admiration are not appreciated by everyone in said community.

Suddenly she finds her own work appearing under several other names and has the audacity to ask WHY? Why has this happened?

It happens again. And again. She points this out publicly but soon realises that was a Very Bad Idea. Her work is OK. Different to what has gone before and based on deep research and a dreadful certainty. This is the WRONG way to get in with the “in-Crowd.”

How Very Dare She? Why Will She Not Just Disappear?

She does not disappear. She keeps asking questions. So another tactic is used.

Her one option of earning money (via Patreon) is hacked and destroyed.

That will end it. Yes?

No!

In the dark and behind the scenes yet another devious plan is hatched to totally discredit this woman and get rid of her forever. A “Scare Her Away with Fear & Shame” tactic.

That doesn’t work either.

So begins a Visible and Public Hate Campaign with private and Public Death Threats against her and her loved ones. The theft of not only her work but also her family, history, friends – all of those truths so innocently shared are taken by others to use as weapons for themselves. Against her.

She starts a campaign of her own and begins to expose EVERYTHING.

Fast forward to today.

This woman has earned virtually no money. She did not save her family from their desperate condition. No one will have anything to do with her. Just the sight of her name in a comment or an email brings nothing but disgust and the unrelenting need to continue the ABUSE.

She loses everything!
