Official Secrets Act – my arse!

Yes. I signed it. But so many “Official Secrets” are no longer secret.

Vengeful was the name of the computer we used on the Ulster Border Checkpoints.

As one of only a handful of RMP girls, I hit the duty far too often. It was rota-ted because of the need to change all travel plans.

Sometimes we went by road (got shot at)

Sometimes we went by helicopter (Nice one pilots. doing the fancy pants dips and swerves)

Sometimes we had a 12 hour shift.

Sometimes a 22 hour shift. 6 hours off. A 12 hour shift to follow.

As a Girl…I was tasked to search the women in the car that Vengeful (which I operated) flagged up.

The MOST Unpleasant of tasks.

Vengeful WAS REAL. I used to operate it. In the early ’80’s!

Yawn. Old news. That’s me dead :o(
