Kyphi

From the age of 21, when I first came across Leslie Kenton via her books, I’ve been obsessed with Fragrance/Perfume/Aromatherapy/The Sense of Smell.

The books I now own are multiple and somewhat peculiar. They cover centuries of time. A legion of famous historical figures. Almost every scented plant known. And the strange connection between scent and procreation!!!

We all carry our own Natural Fragrance that, once upon a time, brought men and women together.

Today we have soaps and shampoos and deodorants and creams and perfumes and colognes and after-shaves to hide what we truly smell like.

But – I’m a sucker for smells. I was in our local pub one night doing the Pub Quiz with a couple of mates and the landlady walked past, stopped and said… OK. Which one of you is wearing Chanel, Mademoiselle?

All three of us put our hands up. And then laughed.

I used to have a not-nice female boss who drowned herself in the perfume POISON. To this day, if I ever smell that particular scent…….!

My absolute favourite Aromatherapy oils all seem to be the Deep, Deep Base Notes.

Frankincense. Myrrh. Vetiver. Benzoin. Sandalwood.

Of course – these are all very hard to extract and excruciatingly expense to buy. But you only need a drop or two :o)

Our sense of smell is DEEPLY connected with the part of our brains that control MEMORY.

Try it out for yourself (?)
