The Science & Psychology of Knitting

I came across the book featured in the image above several years ago and Immediately fell in love with it.

Why?

Because it put into words something that I had known all my life.

I was fortunate enough to live in a place and a time when knitting was taught in school. To both the boys and the girls.

I was doubly fortunate to come from a family with a very long line of knitting ancestors.

I have taught quite a few women how to knit and crochet over the years – with varying success.

The first thing that I teach is the equipment.

Needles/Hook, Yarn, Notebook and Pen.

Most people miss out the last two and then give up in a hissy fit of frustration. Shrug.

I WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING. Especially when doing complicated patterns :o)

P.S. It took almost 3 months to finish this garment. These pages saved my sanity as I lived day to day with 1000 distractions and even more “emergencies.”
