Round & Round in Circles

No matter what I read/research/investigate just lately, I’m being constantly sent back to the same 20 year time period. 1600-1620.

Not that I’m complaining (much.) Because Marie de Rohan was born in December 1600 and I’m quite familiar with the History of Europe at this time.

Something truly major seems to have happened within these two decades and it covers so many areas that it’s quite hard to pinpoint any specifics.

The painting above is also popping up with alarming regularity. It is unsigned (but nominally attributed) and was painted c.1618-1620…see what I mean?

At first glance it looks like a couple of shepherds staring at a skull with a bullet hole above the left eye but closer inspection shows that the “hole” is really a fly.

Curiouser and Curiouser said Alice :o)
