Ian Dury and this song. OMG. Packed in a 12 seater van with 12 people classmates en route from here to Gosport and a week on The Foudroyant. Driven by our Form Teacher, Mr Walsh.

Mr Walsh was a wonderful man. On that trip, as we all piled into the van he (a Maths Teacher) said…”Oh. We have a 12 seater van with 12 of us and the vehicle is full. I’d forgotten to factor in just how much luggage you lot need.”

It was an 8 – hour journey and Mr Walsh suffered Radio 1 the whole way. Including this song by Ian Dury.

BTW – a sad but true FACT. The year after we all left QEGS, Mr Walsh put a double-barrelled shotgun in his mouth and…..!

Every single one of us blamed ourselves but the truth (when it came out) had NOTHING to do with us.
