My house is heated via my best friend. The oil-fired Rayburn in the kitchen. It cooks amazing meals, gives 24/7 Boiling Hot Water but there are faults.
#1 – The price of oil goes up and down and down and up. We have a 1000 litre oil tank and can usually only afford 500 litres of oil/kerosene. Which lasts (with Rayburn on Number 2 of 6) about 9 weeks at the moment.
#2 – The 20 year old central heating boiler which is situated right underneath the shower room that has leaked for about 5 years is #Dangerous.
#3 – Firing up this OLD boiler to heat the 12/13/15 radiators in the house MAY cause a massive explosion after years of being drowned by the shower.
Result – only 2 out of 16 rooms (and one of those heated by a woodburner so…) only 1 out of 16 rooms in my home has 24/7 heat.
Sheesh. We are HARDCORE but healthy :o)
