Walnuts

HA! I knew I had unfinished business with the picture above.

I posted a video about it a while back and got caught up in the Walnut Tree.

We have 5 or 6 walnut trees in our garden – magnificent – so I’ve been looking into the history and symbolism of them.

I came down to the walnut grove to see the blossoms of the valley, to see if the vines were budding and the pomegranates blooming.

This quote is from Song of Songs.

Also…the Walnut is called a “Persian” Tree and it’s roots run all over the Silk Road. Basically throughout the Empire once known as Tartary.

To the Turkish Ottomans it symbolised ROYALTY and FERTILITY.

If you watched the Pregnancy Portrait video, at around the 10:53 mark, this portrait appears.

I know her as Roxelana but she was also called Hurrem Sultan, the wife of Suleiman the Magnificent.

This portrait was by Titian and (apparently) in his possession when he died in 1576. In Venice. At the same as Edward de Vere just happened to be there!

BTW – one of Titian’s other Famous Paintings is Diana and Actaeon.

Go figure :o)
