The Invisibles

.After watching a great live chat a while back, I’ve been sent back to old books of mine.

The Invisibles is subtitled “The True History of the Rosicrucians.”

M’eh. True? I’m not totally convinced but it is fascinating. Especially when – much to my joy – I find a section called A Conjunction on the Pont Neuf, Paris.

I’d read it before but now it makes much more sense. The preceding section was all about Kepler and the Supernova of 1604 (which I posted about a few days back.)

What I’d totally forgotten was another conjunction in 1623 and a massive panic that took hold of Paris at that time.

The Invisibles had sent out 36 people in groups of 6 around Europe (yes…number-ology!) and the 6 in Paris had posted Rosy Cross pamphlets on the newly built Pont Neuf in 1623.

All too complicated to get into right now but…1623 – Charles Stuart, George, Marquis of Buckingham and Wat Montagu all stopped over in Paris, in secret and in disguise, en route to Spain and The Spanish Match that might’ve helped Britain out of the total mess that was The Thirty Years War. James I had a daughter married to the Protestant King of Bohemia and he wanted his son to marry the Catholic daughter of Felipe IV of Spain.

No wonder there was chaos everywhere :o)
