Well. This is sad.

I’ve just seen the dreaded Closing Down Sale signs up on one of my favourite shops in town. This is the third one in a week.

Once Upon A Time, our town was well-known for its Farmers’ Market and the large amount of unique, independent retailers we had.

I’ve always supported our independent, privately-owned retail shops and their owners. I used to be one of them. FACT!

The number of these amazing places left now is around TEN. And that includes three hairdresser/barber salons.

Apart from food and newspapers and the usual post/bank/estate agents – there is NOWHERE left to buy anything of REAL USE. Like a pair of socks or a tin of paint or a box of screws or a pickle jar.

Very sad :o(
