I’ve always loved Beltane. May Day. The day that the children get to dance around the Maypole.
My youngest was born on May Day and the first thing that his (other) grandfather said on hearing the fact that he now had two grandsons was – Oh. It had to be born on Labour Day.
The Bank Holiday for the lazy labourers and working classes ? How dare those peasants have a day off!
The date was not a natural event. It was an slight emergency. Baby was 5 pounds and 6 ounces. Tiny. FACT!
Anyhoo. Collette calls this day Bee – UL- tain – ah. But she’s Irish, so she’s allowed :o)
