One quarter of my “veg patch” has got a David Austin Harlow Carr rose in that has gone totally mental and wild.

She’s taking over EVERYTHING.

So, earlier, I girded my loins, advanced with my trusty secateurs and gauntlets to teach her a lesson in growing neat and tidy.

Then I ran away.

Harlow Carr has the most intoxicating scent of any rose I’ve ever grown. Just two or three stems cut and brought into the house fill the whole place with fragrance. But…

…She has a BITE.

More thorns in one inch than a very thorny thing. So I beat a retreat.
