BTW and apropos of Nothing : Both sets of my grandparents had budgies. The Scottish one was called Jackie and lived in a cage in a tiny flat in Kinghorn.

The English one lived in a huge outdoor aviary … made by George out of 2 by 1 wood and chicken wire…with about 20 other budgies and canaries. In ALL winds and weather.
