As soon as Tsar was laid to rest by the cats, I promised everyone that I’d fill their resting quarter of the veg patch with beautiful flowers.
Yesterday I sowed cornflowers. Wow. So many seeds in one little packet! Fingers crossed.
Next I’ll be sowing Queen Anne’s Lace, which is a posh name for Cow Parsley.
Virtually every verge and hedgerow around here has cow parsley – which I’ve loved since I was a small child. For me it is THE iconic plant of the British countryside.

A tiny meadow in a tiny village in the back of beyond :o)
P.S. Yes. Poppies will be next.
