Potager/English Cottage Garden

Both are exactly the same.

POTAGER is usually thought of as exclusively French. But it’s also English.

It’s how peasants used to plant (cram/jam full) their gardens centuries ago. Especially in Monasteries.

Lots of companion flowers that attract bees and other good insects. Lots of vegetables. Lots of herbs.

When truly refined as an art (which my garden will NEVER be because I love too many flowers) – every single thing in the potager/cottage garden will be edible. From root to seed to stalk to leaf to flower to fruit.

M’eh. I’m a work-in-progress :o)
