David IV of Georgia, known as David the Builder, was the grandfather of Tamar of Georgia.

David was called The King of Kings, Tamar The Queen of Queens.

One of David’s daughters married Isaac Comnenus. They had three children. John. Andronicus and Anna.

David was Andronicus I Comenus’s grandfather and also the great-grandfather of his children TWICE over…because Tamar’s sister had married Andronicus’ son.

The Sovereign Kingdom of Georgia is in the Caucasus and now part of modern Russia. There are regular fights between this country and the Ukraine and Moscow, up to this day.

P.S. I’m 1% Caucasian and 1% Russian :o)
