The Sack of Constantinople – part of the Fourth Crusade – is always described as a major turning point in Medieval History.
It has perplexed many people for a long time. Few can agree on the reason why the brilliant, elite Crusaders of North Western Europe stopped at Constantinople and never attempted to move forwards to “Jerusalem.”
Strange, isn’t it.
But, if all that we are discovering now is true, there could be a very different interpretation of this famous event.
If we go with the life story and death of Andronicus I Comnenus, events begin to make a bit more sense.
Andronicus was crucified in 1185. He was betrayed and murdered by members of his own family who took over the Byzantine throne. Andronicus had life-long links with the far-flung people of the Romean Empire, especially the Slavic countries and the Rus’.
What if 1204 was not Western Crusaders on their way to Jerusalem to bring bloody revenge against the descendants of the murderers of Jesus Christ almost 1,200 years after the fact – but an all out war against the actual murderers of the Tsar of the Slavs/The Saviour/The Holy One by the Tartarian Horde?
Maybe the much-commented-on looting of Constantinople was really a loyal people rescuing their ancient relics from their enemies?

The Siege of Zara in Croatia – part of the Fourth Crusade
In checking my notes for this post today, I came across two very interesting articles which I will link below.
They are quite illuminating if you read between the lines.

Constantinople made deals with the mohammedans to try to destroy the Church.
The Church fought back, and the mohammedans destroyed Constantinople as payment for failure.

Thank you, Nigel is a Teapot. Yes. Mainstream history tells us much about the fights of the Ottomans. The point that I have made here is not mainstream history. It is about the history that has been deliberately HIDDEN from us. This article links to all my other articles which are in no kind of order are all connected. I am The Hidden History Project :o)
