I could not agree with you more! I learned a new Welsh word this past week. “Hiraeth”. Martin Shaw says that it is nearly untranslatable, but that is means roughly “homesick”, but in the sense of a deep emotional loss and longing for what was once, but can never be again. But it also carries a feeling of deep love and pride for that which is lost, and a feeling of the “rightness” that it existed once at all. The word “nostalgia”, he says, does not convey the depth that the Welsh word does. 42% Sweden, 33% England/Wales, 19% Norway, the rest in the mist of Ireland/Scotland:-) If all we have is the bittersweetness of “hiraeth”, then maybe it is enough. It is a feeling that teaches so much, and those who don’t feel it, have lost so much more than they realize. This is a lovely video, Greta! I will watch it a few times:-)

Always spot on, Deb. I didn’t know “hiraeth ” Thank you. Perfect.
Watching the videos I posted today, and another one about Norway, the one thought that came was…
“Anyone who CANNOT find peace, grace and beauty in the landscape and the elements is either a Robot or Dead.”
Man made the cities. God made the country :o)
