If there was just ONE thing in life that told my Dad EVERYTHING about a person…it was the state of their shoes.
As a kid, I’d be made to sit on the back doorstep, in all winds and weather, cleaning my black leather school shoes. And not JUST the top parts. The bottoms too. Especially that place between the sole and the heel.
God’s Honest.
BUT : This became (along with his obsession about perfectly ironed shirts. He taught my brothers and I that too!!!) Good Training for me (them) when I (they) joined the Army (Navy/Marines.)
In the video below, there are two missing steps (pun intended)
F1RST – Fill a bath with a few inches of VERY HOT water and stomp up and down in it wearing your new leather boots/shoes. Psssst. It softens the leather.
S3COND – After applying the polish and before doing the tiny circle action……..SPIT on the boot/shoe. Reapply. Re-Spit.
It’s called Bulling yer Boots.
EASY AS…..?
P.S. The video below the video below is just plain silly and not worth watching ? ? ? :o)
