If you’ve listened to John Cleese talking about this episode – The Psychiatrists – you’ll know that he chose Nicky Henson to play the Mediterranean Ape Johnson because…they were great friends and and he couldn’t think of another actor who would take so many nasty Fawlty Insults and not be “insulted.”

And to take this further – Una Stubbs was also a great friend of JC. She was married to Nicky Henson and her father was a builder. That’s why Sybil’s fave builder is called Mr Stubbs.

Una also appears in the Anniversary episode. Many, many, many years before she became Mrs Hudson in Sherlock.
