Tapas. Buffet. Horses Doovers. Can- APES. etc
I’ve eaten this stuff all over the place.
In the UK – drinks and salted peanuts.
In Gib – drinks and baked potato skins with garlic mayo.
In Spain – drinks with small Spanish sausages, pistachio nuts, bread sticks, olive oil. Fishy things (?)
In France – drinks with a bowl of olives and a bowl of nuts, or Bombay mix. (Side Note : There are certain peeps I love travelling with because they HATE olives…ALL MINE VIBE)
In Italy – drinks with nuts, bruschetta, olive oil, balsamic vinegar.
In Pakistan – drinks with nuts, crisps.
In NY – drinks with pretzels, nuts, olives.
In the UAE – drinks with nuts, olives, pretzels, Pringles, breadsticks, dried fruit, veggie sticks and humous.
In homes in the UK (like mine) – drinks with sausage rolls, vol-au-vents, crisps, tiny cheese scones, pretzels, melba toast and parma ham, cheese and pineapple on sticks, cherry tomatoes and mature cheddar on sticks, salami and grapes on sticks, bacon and cheese in puff pastry slices, iddy biddy slices of homemade pizza, celery sticks filled with cream cheese etc etc.
I love this Mediterranean way of eating because you can eat, drink, talk, mingle, eavesdrop, walk about, put it down and (hopefully) come back to re-find your HorsesDoovers where you left it…unless there is a canny dog in the house. LOL – I’ve seen that one done by TsarDog ;o)
