Easy as ABC
I worked all three of these checkpoints as a policeperson.
Only Alpha once. It’s far outside of Berlin…at the beginning of “The Corridor.”
Alpha was in Helmstedt. The beginning of a 100 + mile autobahn into Berlin. With NO SPEED LIMITS. I drove/drived it :o)
Hit the city 100 miles later and y’all had to go through Checkpoint Bravo. OMG. The endless hours I spent there.
But my brightest memory is the long high counter that we all sat behind. 2 Brits first. 2 Americans. Then 2 French.
And the night me and my oppo forced them all to watch the film below. On the tiny TV we had to while away the long night hours.
It was the same at Charlie…Do you speak English? No. But the Americans next to us do.
How childish ….L’dMFAO every time that one worked.
