So many remind me of this book. I adore Phil Rickman’s Merrily Watkins books.

They are heavy and detailed and not a fast read.

Midwinter was filmed for TV. They totally effed up the best bits of the story but…the dead/dying man in the hospital bed scratching Merrily’s palm is a ViVid image.

Scratch. Scratch.

Reminds me of…………when I posted THE REMAINS OF THE ALTAR in December 2019 and we suddenly had a yt commenter called Merrily Watkins.

AND : I get served a BS video called Grave Importance run by UAV on Dec 24th that year. When they BOTH knew that was the anniversary of my baby’s death and my mother’s funeral.
