Yesterday I was speechless at an out-of-the-blue gift from a newly made friend.

She gave me 10 well-growing tomato plants and 8 equally well-growing chilli pepper plants.

Just like that. For no reason other than the pleasure of giving.

I’ve potted all of them on and also sown a free packet of Canterbury Bell seeds.

I’m such a romantic when it comes to flowers. All those olde fashionede Cottage Garden Plants give me such delight.

Much like a gorgeous double-petalled Old Rose or Love-in-a-Mist or the papery thin petals of an Oriental Poppy…I can sit and wonder at the hand that made Canterbury Bells aka The Cup & Saucer Flower.
