I watched a video this morning and the first thing that I noticed in the painting was the Centurion’s left thigh.

It just struck me as strange.

What if this was a Cilice Strap?

But then – why would Veronese paint it into a 16th century portrait?

Apparently, allegedly, so the media says, modern day Illuminati and Opus Dei members regularly wear a cilice strap on their thigh.

Freaking Muppets.

The cilice is a chain or strap with small spikes in it. Numeraries and associates wear it around their thigh for 2 hours a day.
