I have the book above. A F1RST edition published in 1926.

As you can see…it’s falling to pieces.

The first chapter deals with François-Timoléon de Choisy – The abbé de Choisy.

He’s quite pretty, no?

Today they are called transvestites.

I’ve nothing against Trannies.

I dress like a man aka wear trousers.

Jehanne d’Arc was burned for dressing like a man.

A teensy bit one-sided hypocrisy?
