Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple

I love and adore MR as Miss Marple. There are only a few films – and Agatha Christie HATED them all. So does yt, btw!!! But, for me, Margaret bought a naughtiness, a devil-may-care lightness to the role that no one else has ever replicated. Margaret Rutherford, herself, was also an intriguing character :o)

Stirling Man : He’s a Big Bruiser!

When I was 20, I spent a week glamping/roughing it (?) just outside Stirling. Climbing mountains. Orienteering. Disco-Dancing. Being eaten alive by those pesky Highland midges!!!! Stirling is a beautiful place :o)

Walking in the Footsteps

Long ago, I noticed a sad truth in the “Truther” community. There is a heavy tendency towards the large, wide-angled view of history and research etc. Buildings, photographs, lists, graphs, percentages, dates, sweeping subjects like philosophy, cosmology, architecture, science, death, rumours, narratives etc. I was once totally totalled by a nasty, ignorant trollbot in a […]

Xanthe & The Crossbones Girl

I find every part of this programme intriguing! Objective study has its place but it’s wonderful when we catch a glimpse of the “real” person behind the bones/history/story/name etc. The facial reconstruction expert, Caroline, has been on TV for many years. Her work astonishes and amazes me. This kind of thing is not everybody’s cup […]

When we stop looking at Underground/Tunnel/Labyrinth in their literal meanings – a whole new view opens up. Historical research is a labyrinthine task. And that Does NOT mean […]
