Mary Somerville

Wiki : Mary Somerville

Someone has stolen my family. AGAIN!

I’m getting agitated now.

Mary was a famous 19th century female scientist and polymath. She married one of the Admiral’s sons and had a boy by him called Woronzow,

I have a copy of Mary’s biography written by the daughter from her second marriage to Somerville. It mentions Mary’s first husband once. And in not very nice terms – the text of which is now in the Wiki article above.

Anyhoo – there are strong ties between all these people and the Royal Society so it shows a huge aptitude for science, yes?

There is even a letter written by Michael Farady to Agnes, wife of Woronzow…name of his father (the Admiral’s son) missing.

And on top of all that there is a grandson who was at the defence of Sevastopol, fighting the Europeans.

I’m very, very confused ;o(
